important in a sad way. It's not like he is jesus. Don't you think that maybe the catholic faith puts a little bit too much emphasis on the pope and not enough on the individuals spirituality?

Hey... don't ask me though... I'm just a dumb atheist. :)

I admired him, John Paul II, for many reasons, but I don't expect you to understand that admiration or 'emphasis,' because you are not Catholic. The Church, despite what you think you know about it, encourages individual spirituality. I don't expect you to know that either, because you are an atheist.

Regardless, I would never react to your beliefs or non-beliefs with such an impulsive and unconstructive statement as "you are going to make me vomit."
